My birth name was Kimberly; but I was given the nickname GiGi at an early age, and I can't remember being called anything else. It is my heart name.

The professional life of my twenties and thirties followed several disparate paths. I started off in banking. But it was a sedentary career and I wanted more of a physical challenge. I held a Jazzercise franchise for a few years, but found it was not the right choice for me. In the late 90's I helped open Great Harvest Bread Company in Chattanooga TN. I spent nearly ten years baking artisan bread for them and growing as a person. Unfortunately I developed a sensitivity to the high protein wheat that makes their bread so wonderful, so it was time for a change again. I found myself seeking balance and an opportunity to serve my fellow man. I also found myself developing my own chronic pain issues.

When I tried massage therapy, I knew that I had found my new career. As a Licensed Massage Therapist I feel that I have truly come home to myself. Each massage is a new opportunity to serve, teach, and learn. As I work to resolve hyper tonicity, I strive to bring each client back to awareness of their own body. I teach that we must feel the pain that we have been ignoring to be able to address it correctly, and I encourage my clients to explore their own power to heal. But the best part is the learning. With every massage I give I come closer to understanding; of myself and the people around me. We are all wonderful and different. And yet we all share so much in common. I think Bob Marley said it best. One Love. One Heart. Let's get together and feel alright.
