Infertility Acupuncture

Women practicing Traditional Medicine have used acupuncture successfully for thousands of years to reduce stress and treat reproductive issues such as infertility, irregular cycles, PMS, painful periods, fibroids, ovarian cysts, and menopausal symptoms. The advantage of combining both medical disciplines increases the chance of a successful live birth rate.
Acupuncture and Fertility Treatments
Fertility clinics add acupuncture to their practice because studies have shown that through improved blood circulation to the reproductive organs there is a provision of oxygen and nutrients to the follicle. This can lead to:

- Increased egg quantity
- Increased endometrium thickness

Acupuncture is very safe and does not hurt. In fact, infertility acupuncture decreases the pain and discomfort of retrieval and the drug side effects. We recommend starting acupuncture one to two months leading up to the embryo transfer. We can also perform acupuncture on the day of the retrieval for pain relief, two treatments on the day of the transfer (before and after the procedure), and the first few weeks after the procedure to manage stress. Once again, the benefit is to increase the chances of a successful live birth.
